It's not the gift but the giver...

Yesterday was a very stressful day at work for me and at about 8:30 p.m. I told Stan I just had had enough and was going home. As I was pulling into the garage I could hear a voice yelling "Happy Birthday Mom" (my birthday isn't until next week). I turn the car off and I could see Adam walking up behind me. He is caring a big case of diet coke that looks like it maybe had been dropped and one can missing. He says "Mom I just couldn't wait for your birthday and I just can't stay out of these". Oh my goodness how sweet is that. I just gave him a big hug and told him "I love my gift, Thank you!". After crying most of the way home from work - now I was smiling and crying because he made me think...it's not the gift but the giver!

My Prince day dreaming in beautiful colors...

Life is what we make of it.

Lord I thank you for your blessings daily and for the trials you allow to happen to us. Because of the trials we grow stonger in our faith knowing You are with us all the way. Take us and use us; let us be a blessing to someone today! :-)

What does the Energizer Bunny and my Husband have in common ...

They go and go and go... Last weekend Stanley babysat two of our granddaughters. He picks them up at their cheerleading/basketball game in Huntsville. Takes them to dinner. Put a tent up in our living room for them and Lester to sleep in (however they all three end up in bed with him for the night) Makes pancakes for them and he even had a hot tea party with them using china. The sweet note is one that Alexis put on the bulletin board in the kids play room. I just love it! (by the way... I was out of town Friday-Monday, he did it all without me. Not sure if I'm needed or not)

He has been afflicted with really bad allergies, so I know that he doesn't feel 100%. But it's just amazing that he is always doing something. Lord knows that work REALLY keeps him hopping. Finally last Thursday he got a shot in the booty for his allergies off to the golf course on Friday. He was feeling so yucky but was raring to get up Saturday morning to take Lester for an all day ride in the Rhino. Again her returns not feeling so well but spent Sunday helping me cut and pickup broken limbs from the ice storm.

I mean GOSH! I literally slide into the bathtub in the kid's playroom and soak using two tubs of hot water and a glass of wine feeling like I just don't think I will live to see tomorrow because I hurt so bad YUCK. I finally drag myself to my bedroom and call Stan (he's outside throwing rocks to Lester) to ask if he would come in and lather my back and neck with Biofreeze. Then I take a pain pill and he goes back outside and plays with the dog! How does he do it?????

...Mighty, Mighty Worrier....

Well it's been awhile since my last posting, there just seems to not be enough "free-time". Last time I checked in we had no electricity, well after 9 days we did get it back but I am still trying to get caught up on house work. YUCK, I feel so bad for Stan, there seems no end to the broken limbs and trees. He spends all of his free time cutting and moving trees. For a bike rider this is a real heart break. The trails were just destroyed by the ice storm. It will take months to get them clear enough for riding. Of course Lester tries to help by prancing around with broken limbs.

Anyway back to the ...Mighty, Mighty Worrier... title. My wonderful, awesome husband will protect me at all cost. Today when I attempted to go to our bedroom to put away some clean laundry, a mouse greeted me at my door! I screamed "Oh My Gosh" and ran to Stanley who was vacuuming. I told him who I just met. He went to the closet got his B B gun and sat in his chair til the little critter stuck his head out again. Of course when Stan pulled the gun up to his shoulder the mouse ran into my office. Stan goes to the office shuts the door and I hear "pop, pop, pop" then finally he comes out and says "who's your friend now" Well THANK YOU JESUS he got the little booger. I just knew I wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight or any other night until that critter was caught. I just can't stand snakes, spiders and mice!!! My husband gets the "I love you and will protect your award"

I hope all of you are doing well and have a wonderful week. Please say a prayer for me, not only am I working this week at Stan's office, I have been called for Jury Duty this week, a couple of embroidery projects are due and I am going to Little Rockk for the weekend. How am I going to get it all done??? Only by prayer and understanding of my wonderful husband.

No electricity but a day to celebrate

Another day without electricity but what a wonderful day to celebrate! Two of our grand-daughters were baptized today. Stan and I are both so proud of them. It is a day we won't forget. Now more than ever we realize that our little girls are growing up and being a "Christ-like" example for them is so important. Our prayer is that they will want to be like Paw Paw and Nay Nay and always know they can come to us for anything...especially lots of love and hugs.

Still with no electricity

These last four days has brought new meanying to my prayer life. I do pray for the needs of others and myself, but know days I am also praying a prayer of Thanks. For example:

Thank you Lord for my wonderful husband and who is so handy cutting way broken trees and he can even keep me warm by running a generator (what a smart man he is)

Thank you Lord for not letting any of my family members get hurt do to the ice storm.

Thank you for letting me spend more quiet time with my husband. I have been reminded to not take my dishwasher, washer and dryer, hot shower, blowdryers and even my vaccum for granted. I love and miss them all when they don't work!

On a brighter subject two of our granddaughters will be baptized this Sunday! We are so proud of them. They are beautiful and smart little girls.
